Education
Education is the paramount duty of the state, with a broad lens that provides for the well-being of all our children.
That requires more than endless debates about funding formulas. It means a real commitment to early-grade literacy, strong mental health supports, safe and engaging classrooms, and excellent instruction. It means giving educators the tools they need and holding the system accountable for results that enrich the lives of our students and prepare them for the world they are about to enter.
After a decade on the Walla Walla School Board, I know what works and what does not, and I am committed to bringing that same focus on student success and responsible leadership to Olympia.

Economic Opportunity
Three systems drive almost every part of the affordability crisis: housing, healthcare, and energy.
Washington needs more homes, more quickly, and fewer outdated barriers that make it harder to build in the places people want to live. We must move the healthcare conversation beyond the issue of coverage to go after the middlemen and practices that inflate healthcare costs and push families and small/rural providers to the brink. And with a looming energy shortage on the horizon, we need a statewide commitment to reliable, affordable, and abundant energy.
I am committed to tackling these challenges with honest, practical solutions that address the real pressures facing families and small businesses in the 16th District.

That Works
New taxes and regulations make life hard for small business owners, but that’s not their only challenge.
The long-term health of Eastern Washington depends upon strong small businesses that flourish in and support their local communities. But for far too long, we have accepted as inevitable an economy organized around giant corporations that can squeeze suppliers and customers with unfair, monopolistic practices.
In Olympia, I will focus on reducing everyday costs, supporting family farms and small businesses, strengthening local economies, and creating a fairer system where hard work — not market power — once again provides a pathway to prosperity for every generation.
